Measuring wheels for encoders allow for precise measurement of material lengths: wood, steel, plastic. They are used for measuring cutting lengths, linear positioning, etc. The rotation of the wheel along the linearly moving material translates into generating a certain number of pulses by the incremental encoder. These pulses can be converted and displayed on counters or PLC controllers in a user-friendly dimension - mm, cm, m, km, etc.
